Below are some frequently asked questions Philip is asked clients about Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy & the Thrive Programme.
Q. Can people get stuck in hypnosis and not be able to come back up?
A. No. You can break the state at any time you wish.
Q.I feel a bit nervous, can I bring someone with me to help me feel a bit more confident?
A. Yes that’s no problem for the initial consultation. However, with regard to the sessions themselves, your friend will need to sit in the waiting room. The only exception to this is for anyone under the age of 16, a guardian must attend and remain in the consultation room for the entire session.
Q. I doubt if I can be hypnotised, are you sure you can hypnotise anyone?
A. Yes, providing you want to be hypnotised and you cooperate, though the depth of trance will vary from person to person. The only people who cannot be hypnotised are children under the age of about six or seven and anyone heavily under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Q.Are details of sessions kept confidential?
A. Yes, with the following limitation. Should Philip believe that your safety or the safety of another person is in doubt, he will take whatever steps are necessary in my opinion to ensure nothing untoward happens either to you or another person. Your session notes are shredded when your therapy is complete.
Q.Will I remember everything afterwards?
Y. Yes
Q. I am frightened I might blurt something out and make a fool of myself. Does this happen very often?
A. Never
Q.Can I be made to do something I don’t want to?
N. No
Q. How long does a session last?
A. Sessions normally last about 50 minutes
Q.Is my mind under your control?
A. No
Q.Are any drugs used?
A. No
Q.What is the Mind Training Programme?
A. It’s an evidence based psychological training programme aimed at raising self esteem, confidence and helping people to learn to think and behave in a more positive and empowered way.
