Read Lee’s experience of the Mind Training Programme
Anybody that knows me knows how much of a ‘worry wart’ I am, some might even say a ‘stress head’. All my life I’ve struggled to manage my thoughts and worries rationally, until 2015 when it became a whole new challenge.
2015 was a year of massive highs and serious lows for me, I didn’t realise how much of a toll the emotional rollercoaster had taken on me until I had my first ever panic attack at work. At first I didn’t know what was happening but I did know it was a feeling I did not like at all. Considering how much I like to have control over my life, I have never felt less in control. It was then that I decided to stop making excuses and get things back on track.
A very good friend of mine had recommended Philip Blake, so I had a look online, read some of the details on his website and decided to get in touch. The fact that Philip responded almost straight away instantly gave me hope and we started off by having a consultation. I remember going into Philip’s office and literally feeling like I could burst into tears at any moment, a feeling that had become all too familiar at this point. As soon as I had met with Philip I felt excited at the thought that he might be able to help me – little did I know how much.
Philip told me about the programme he offers and how it can help people like me to restore a certain element of balance and control in their lives. I honestly thought at the beginning, “it sounds great, but nothing’s ever helped me before so it will probably just help me get over this blip at the very most”. Wow was I wrong!
At first I was surprised at how much talking I didn’t have to do. I fully expected that I’d be doing all the talking, almost like a therapy session – but it was completely the opposite. Philip taught me various techniques that I now use in day to day life (somewhat subconsciously) and that have and continue to make me feel like a different person. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll never be worry or stress free – no one’s perfect (I realise that now) but I’m sure even my family and friends are surprised at how much better I am at handling things that would usually consume my mind and most often my life!
When discussing the details of the programme with Philip he had said that it would be about 9 or 10 sessions long. He said for some people it doesn’t take that many sessions for them to notice a difference, but I had already promised myself I would see the programme through regardless. I think we were about 3 or 4 sessions in when I was walking from the car park to Philip’s office at the Lido medical centre and I realised how much of a spring I had in my step, not to mention the aching face I had from smiling so much more. (I am that person that most people tease and tell to smile more often than not. I’m surprised I don’t have more frown lines!)
By the end of the programme, I felt more confident, my self-esteem was probably better than it had ever been and I’m even gradually caring less of what people think of me (that element is a work in progress). Happiness is now my key priority and the most important lesson I was taught, is that it is completely in my control.
I cannot recommend Philip Blake and this Programme enough.

‘The Mind Training Programme’ aims to change the way you think, to get the very best out of yourself in every area of your life, to overcome your limitations and anything that is holding you back in life.
It works because you will be given real insight and understanding into yourself, you will learn about your personality, how you presently think, what your belief systems are and how they are affecting you.

The pace of the course and number of sessions you need does vary. Philip will only go as fast as you are comfortable with and you wont move on until he is sure you have understood what you have already covered. Typically people take between six and eight sessions.
